Quality of education in Indonesia is now being one of the primary issues that we need to improve. Not all citizens can access the required quality education because of the prevailing dominance of political, corporate and bureaucratic elites which influence the education policy. Although Indonesia's government allocates one-fifth of its budget to the education sector in order to boost its international rankings, Indonesia is still facing certain challenges in education sector. For example, decentralisation of education policy undermines standardisation of curricula at all levels and creates regional disparities in teaching quality and student attainment.
