Infrastructure in a Maritime Country

Back to previous page

Summary

Indonesia’s government is now paying more attention to the infrastructure development of Indonesia as its plans are including more than $400 billion in building projects, constructing 25 airports and new power plants as the government seeks the economic growth. The infrastructure development is more specifically directed for connecting the rural areas and between islands in Indonesia. This national program of building infrastructure is a key plank to boost economic growth and spread wealth beyond the main island-powerhouse of Java, where the capital is located.
